Information regarding the start of school this week
The beginning of the new school year has arrived! We are very excited to see our amazing students again. For this to work we need your cooperation to keep everyone safe and healthy. Please do not send your child to school if they are showing symptoms. Everyday we are asking parents to administer this home screening checklist to determine if their student is able to attend classes. If your child is exhibiting ANY symptoms on either check list please keep them home!
Fall 2020 School Information
The Salida School Board, supported by Chaffee County Public Health and other partners, has decided to resume in-person instruction for any students at all schools. There is also an online option supported by local teachers available.
New District policies require that all students who choose to attend in-person instruction adhere to the following protocols:
- Do not come to school if you are feeling ill (sore throat, fever greater than 100 degrees F, body aches, cough, fatigue, etc.). Reach out to the school and let us know you will be out.
- Health checks will be conducted each day for all students and staff upon arrival (declaration of symptoms if any, temp. check)
- Anyone entering the building needs to wash hands in the kitchen or one of the bathrooms immediately. Hand sanitizer will also be available in case the sinks are occupied.
- Students and staff must observe social distancing while at school.
As always, please feel free to reach out to the school for any clarification you might need (see contact information below.
